Delores Elizabeth Boykin -80

Surrounded by family, Delores transitioned to her heavenly home on October 6, 2020 at Select Specialty Hospital in Johnstown PA.  Delores was the fifth eldest of eleven children and the first daughter born to James and Vivian Massey in Johnstown, PA on August 29, 1940. She was blessed with five children: Joseph, Derek, Brian, Kelly and Kyle; and two stepchildren, Fred III and Patricia Clemons.

Delores was predeceased by her parents, James and Vivian Massey; brothers; James, Robert (Carrie), Booker, Cammie (Brunetta), and Raymond Massey; sister; Betty Gibson (Napolean); ex-husbands Joe Boykin Sr. and Fred Clemons II, and stepson, Fred Clemons III.  

Ms. Boykin leaves to celebrate her life her children; Joseph of Virginia Beach, VA; Derek (Josie) of Buckeye, Arizona; Brian (Deidra) of Sherman, TX; Kelly of Ft. Washington, MD;  Kyle (Hilary) of Allentown, PA; and Patricia Clemons of Indiana PA; sixteen grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; brother Ernie (Delores) Massey and three sisters, Rev. Rita (Clyde Sr.) Williams of Johnstown PA; Valerie Link of Fairburn GA; and Florence (James) Peterson of Detroit, MI and a host of nieces, nephews; cousins and other relatives, neighbors and friends.

Delores attended Diebert and Somerset Street Elementary Schools, Joseph Johns Junior High School and Johnstown Senior High School. She later attended Greater Johnstown Area Vocational Tech and received her certificate as a Licensed Practical Nurse.

She was a state certified Day Care Provider for twenty-four years. In 1998, Ms. Dee began working with the Cambria County Child Development Corporation at the Eastside Elementary School providing latch-key services for after-school care. On June 4, 2009, Ms. Dee retired to relax, enjoy life, travel and visit family.  Delores was a member of the St. James Missionary Baptist Church, the Elks Lodge and Senior Citizens Center of Johnstown. She also enjoyed card games, casinos, travelling and all genre of music.

All services will be held on Saturday October 17, 2020 at St. James Missionary Baptist Church. Public viewing from 10-12pm followed by the service.  Capacity for the service is limited due to COVID.  Interment held at Grandview Cemetery.  Arrangements entrusted to Moskal-Reid Funeral Home.  See the Moskal-Reid website for online condolences, Zoom, and Facebook information.  All floral arrangements can be sent to St. James Missionary Baptist Church.
