Evalyn T. Brudnak (81) of Seward fell asleep in the Lord surrounded by her family in prayer at Conemaugh Hospital November 13, 2019. Born December 9, 1937 daughter of John and Anna (Bocko) Kovalic. Preceded in death by, her loving husband of 41 years Robert who fell asleep in the Lord in 2003, her parents, her mother and father-in-law Stephen and Anna Brudnak, her brothers-in-law Rudolph Gregory and Gary Bowser and sister-in-law Dolores Brudnak. Survived by her daughters Karen Brudnak-Slate married to Barry Slate and Lynn Brudnak-Kelly married to Michael Kelly, Her grandchildren Connor Kelly, Lauren and Claire Slate, sisters Margaret Gregory and Dolores Bowser and brother Robert Kovalic (Eleanor) sisters-in-law Louise Brudnak and Elaine Graff (Ron). Evalyn was affectionately known as “Aunt Ev” or “Buba” to her many nieces, nephews, family and friends. She will always be remembered for her wonderful family gatherings, picnics, her extra large birthday cakes and her famous Fourth of July children’s parade at her home. No one made better apple pie or apricot kolache than “Buba”. Evalyn truly loved Christ the Saviour Cathedral where she was a devoted lifelong member. Family and friends will be received from 2 – 8 Pm Friday at Moskal-Reid Funeral Home where the Very Reverend Protopresbyter Robert Buczak will hold Panachida service at 7:30 PM Friday and are invited to attend her Funeral Service at 10 AM Saturday at Christ the Saviour Cathedral, Committal Grandview Cemetery. Thank You to our friends and family for the many get well cards, texts and emails and for their beautiful expressions of love for our mother. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Christ the Saviour Cathedral in her memory.
