Georgene worked for Nutrition Inc. for nearly 15 years serving as head cook for Westmont Elementary School. Her cousin, Janie Smith, ignited her love for cooking. Her diligence granted her a managerial position for the Greater Johnstown School District’s summer feeding program and later she started her own catering business. Georgene shared her passion for cooking and hosting as head of the hospitality auxiliary at Works of Deliverance Fellowship International Ministries. Later, Georgene served as a faithful member of Shiloh Baptist Church until her passing. If anyone needed a dish for a community event (weddings, baby showers, cheerleading competitions, volunteer events,or funerals), Georgene was there. She shared her love through the food she made. Aside from being a wife and a mother, her most favorite role was being a grandmother, self-named as “Gigi”. Georgene loved her family and fought to overcome many health challenges over the years.
