Horace Lee Fields, Jr, affectionately known as “Junior” or “Jay", 83, of Johnstown, PA, passed away on December 1, 2019 from pneumonia due to advanced Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease. A memorial service will be held Friday, December 6 at 1:00pm at Moskal Reid Funeral Home, 79 J Street, Johnstown, PA. Junior was born in Swansea, South Carolina on March 3, 1936 to the late Horace and Rosabell Edmond Fields, Sr. He moved with his parents to Johnstown, PA in the mid-1940s. Junior was married to Doris Ann Bush on June 8, 1991. They were together for 33 years until she passed away on July 29, 2018. Junior enjoyed a career in amateur boxing. He was managed by the late Carm Scilaba. He lived in New York City for a while but returned to Johnstown, PA to live the rest of his life. In addition to his loving parents, Junior is preceded in death by all of his siblings Annabelle, Lorene, Edward and Harmon Sr and an infant brother. He is preceded in death by his daughter Pamela Thomas; sons Wesley Fields, Stephen Fields, Terrance Harris; granddaughter Vannessa Washington; niece Janet Fields - all of Johnstown, PA; and nephew Leonard Fields of McKinley, TX. Survived by his children: Marsha Harris, Michael and David Fields, grandchildren: Brian (Christina) and Christian Berry; Damien Fields; Brittany Harris - all of Johnstown, PA; and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survived by stepchildren Linda Harris of Pittsburgh, PA; Kenny Harris, Christine Bush, Thalia (Nana) Osei, Tashianna (Kofi) Kwakye, John (Chrystal) Gordon, all of Johnstown, PA. Survived by loving nephews Harry (Catherine) Fields of Yorktown, VA; Dion Perry of Phoenix, AZ; Kevin Fields of Columbus, OH; Harmon Fields Jr and Rondell (Kara) Fields of Johnstown, PA and nieces Donna Fields-Hunter of Johnstown, PA; Anita Pritchard of Elizabeth, NJ; Debra Fields of Texas; and a host of great nieces, great nephews, cousins, friends, and family. The family of Horace Fields, Jr. would like to thank all the people at Laurelwood Nursing Home, Senior Life Center of Cambria City and others who took care of Junior during the last years of his life.
