Julia (Kuzmiak) Matolak
December 28, 1929 ~ February 17, 2023 (age 93) 93 Years Old
Julia (Kuzmiak) Matolak, 93 born Decemeber 28, 1929 in Conemaugh, PA. She is the daughter of John and Mary (Kochemba) Kuzmiak. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband William Matolak to whom she was married on April 30, 1960 until his passing in 2002. She was also preceded in death by her sisters Mary Wuckovich, Margaret Fausey, Martha Kmetz, Kay Sayko, and Magdalene Blaschak.
She is survived by her children David W. married to Nancy (Bigler) Chapin, SC, Jeanne married to Jeffrey Leverknight Finksburg, MD, Mark R. married to Christian Silver Springs, MD, Michael J. New Castle, PA, and Cathy married to Gary Tippett Tampa, FL, five grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother George Kuzmiak, Stephen Kuzmiak married to Joann (Weigle) from Florida and many nieces and nephews.
Julie was a member of Christ The Saviour Cathedral. A former employee of the Penn Traffic sales auditing office, the Greater Johnstown High School cafeteria, the Burger Palace Restaurant, and the Crane Company Honerstown. She was a volunteer at Lee Hospital for 6 years, loved to play bingo, an active member of the Senior Activities Center, and loved exercising.
Family and friends will be received from 5-8pm at Moskal-Reid Funeral Home, West End where the Very Reverend Protopresbyter Robert Buczak will hold a panachida at 730pm on February 20, 2023. A funeral service will be held at Christ The Saviour Cathedral at 10am on Tuesday, February 21, 2023. Entombment immediately following at Richland Mausoleum.
