Sylvia was a 1981 graduate of Greater Johnstown Senior High School. Because she loved
children and they loved her, it only seemed natural that she would work in the Childcare
Industry. Throughout her career she was employed by Moms House, Sprangle Family Learning
Center, Tullis’s Little Lamb Daycare and Community Action Partnership of Cambria County
Head Start. Sylvia cared about her community and worked diligently for many years as an
Election Poll Worker for the 12 th Ward Prospect section of Johnstown. Although Sylvia was a
member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, she most recently attended Peniel Praise Community
Church. She was a Saved Believer in Jesus Christ with an unyielding faith in God. Just as God
commanded Joshua to be strong and courageous, she too lived her life courageously, inspiring
everyone she met. She loved having her photo taken as witnessed by her Facebook page. She
will be greatly missed and affectionately remembered for her loving personality and beautiful
smile. Visitation will be Friday, December 10, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and 10:00
